Executive Daily Intelligence Product

An executive decision-support product defined through a 13-section intelligence specification and delivered against a 16-item engineering backlog.

13sections in the executive intelligence specification

Analytics ProductExecutive Decision Support

Context

Leadership needed a daily view of performance that was consistent, prioritised and ready to act on, rather than a set of dashboards to interpret.

Challenge

Executive reporting fails when it is either too broad to act on or too narrow to trust. The product needed a clear specification of what executives should see, in what order, and why.

My Role

As Analytics Lead I defined the product: authoring the 13-section executive intelligence specification, translating recurring stakeholder requirements into a prioritised 16-item analytics engineering backlog, and prioritising delivery with the analytics engineering team.

Approach

  • Specify the product first: 13 sections covering what leadership needs to see daily and how each section should be interpreted.
  • Translate recurring stakeholder requirements into a 16-item engineering backlog with clear scope and sequencing.
  • Build on governed semantic models so that every number reconciles with the rest of the platform.

Architecture / Analytics Design

The product is built on governed semantic models and presents them as a structured daily intelligence view designed around executive decisions.

Business Impact

A single, prioritised daily view for leadership, owned and evolved as an analytics product rather than a one-off report.

Technology

  • Governed semantic models
  • Business intelligence tooling
  • Analytics engineering pipelines

Key Lessons

  • A written specification is the fastest way to align executives on what matters.
  • Treating executive reporting as a product with a backlog keeps it alive after launch.
